Man charged after threats to neighbour
Posted Jan 26, 2012 By EMC NewsOfficers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police charged a 68-year-old Drummond North Elmsley man with offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act after they responded to an emergency call at about 6.30 p.m. on Jan. 20.
During the course of a dispute with a neighbour the man made threats while carrying a baseball bat and smashed the windshield and dented the body work of the victim's car.
The investigating officer discovered that there had been a previous incident involving a firearm and threats.
The man was held for a Bail Hearing on Monday, Jan. 23 in regard to charges of Mischief Under $5000, Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Use Firearm While Committing An Offence, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Assault with a Weapon all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged with Possession of Cannabis Resin, Possession of Marihuana, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of other Drugs all contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
