Posted Mar 11, 2010 By Hilary Barrett

EMC Events - McDonalds Corners-Elphin Recreation and Arts (MERA) is concluding its 2010 season of Round the World on a Dinner Plate with a grand finale - a St. Paddy's Party.

On Friday, March 19 at the MERA Schoolhouse, 6 p.m., we will be serving a delicious Irish Stew, accompanied by Colcannon - a traditional dish of mashed potato and cabbage - and Irish Soda Bread.

Desserts will be available as usual.

At 6:30 p.m. the Pub opens, offering a variety of beers, and the fun begins.

Bring your instrument and join in Celtic Jam

We are inviting local musicians to bring their instruments and join us in a Celtic Jam, being coordinated by Bill Cameron of the well-known local band The Skirmish.

The cover charge will be waived for musicians. The cost is $10 for the dinner or $5 cover charge without a meal.

Snacks and desserts will be available to all, and there will be fun events taking place throughout the evening.

So come in your best Irish outfit and be ready to play music, sing a song, tell a story or even dance a jig - and finish off the Irish Season with a flourish.

Reservations for the dinner are advised - by contacting meraschoolhouse@bell.net or leaving a message at 613-278-0388. Musicians can contact Bill Cameron at 613-278-2556 or email him at cameronb@netscape.ca.
