Posted Mar 11, 2010 By Mary Kate Laphen

EMC Events - Put a visit to the Merrickville Public Library on your "to-do" list for March Break! Your kids (and their friends) will love our Fun Corner - with board games, puzzles and a puppet theatre.

The library will also be offering special children's programs during March Break. All activities are free of charge, thanks to the support of the Friends of the Library. Please call 613-269-3326 to register for these activities.

JUICE JAM

Join us for Juice Jam with Polly Beach on Saturday, March 13 at 10 a.m. This is a fun and informal music and rhyme program for preschoolers and primary graders (and a parent), featuring simple songs and rhymes, rhythm instruments, lots of audience participation and a snack!

Kids ages six and up will love 'Skulldiggery,' on Tuesday, March 16 at 1 p.m. Examine animal skulls and discover the characteristics of local predators and their prey with Andrea Howard (Teacher by Nature). Space is limited and registration is required for this workshop.

The library will also be offering crafts for kids aged four to 10 (parents optional) on Thursday, March 18 at 1 p.m. Join us in making a spaceship and an alien pal. This is a drop-in program, so there is no need to register.

The library's weekly Friday drop-in StoryTime program will also run on March 19 at 10 a.m. StoryTime (for ages six and under and an adult) includes stories, songs and rhymes, rhythm instruments and a simple craft to promote pre-reading skills.

For more information on any of the activities taking place during March Break at the Merrickville Public Library, please call the library at 613-269-3326.
