EMC Entertainment - Former Perth resident turned Toronto filmmaker Daniel Montgomery will be returning home again April 22 for the library's International Film Night.

Montgomery, who attended last year's film night for a showcase of his award-winning film 'Princess Margaret Boulevard', will be back next month to show a new short film he produced entitled 'Out in That Deep Blue Sea'. The 16-minute film, released in 2009, was chosen as one of Canada's top 10 by the Toronto International Film Festival. Montgomery will also take part in a question and answer session at the film night.

Out in That Deep Blue Sea, starring Peter Bavis, focuses on a real estate agent who encounters a slump late in his career. According to the plot synopsis, "With questionable behaviour at the forefront, he struggles to find balance between his professional obligations and his personal relationships."

The film was directed by Kazik Radwanski, who studied film at Ryerson University. Radwanski also teamed up with Montgomery to direct Princess Margaret Boulevard.
