Perth student dies on school ski trip

Tweet ThisA Grade 6 student from Stewart School died Thursday afternoon in a skiing accident during a field trip to Calabogie Peaks Resort.
Nicole Wren, 11, died from injuries sustained when she struck a tree.
A parent who was present at the time of the incident said parents "were in shock, and they had to keep up appearances for the kids."
She said all the skiers were required to wear helmets, and added that "Nicole was a skier of some ability."
Grief counselors were at the school to meet with teachers and students Friday morning.
